Résumé de l'intervention

Performance art is an expressive form characterized by its contemporary expansion. Its current institutionalization and historicization transform this oppositional expressive form into a norm-driven art product, integrated into the cultural offer and deprivated from its transgressiv power under the conditions of a global reified art.
Nevertheless, some non-institutional spaces led by informal organizations and collectives keep creating events dedicated to a shared experience of radical aesthetic intensity through the prism of political contestation and refusal of capitalism. These events are joined by an audience sharing an attraction for some accelerationism infused art performances and music (harsh noise, wall noise, hard techno, hardcore, speedcore, extratone and so forth).
This presentation proposes to examine a selection of art and music performances within non-institutional context affiliated with the Left-Wing and Right-Wing militancies. The modalities of aesthetic experiences will be described : intensity, sensory overstimulation, proxemics, experimental uses of technology, aesthetic shock, surprise, blurring of boundaries between art and life, artist and audience, art and non-art, and linked to their ambivalent, contradictory psychological effects :

  • fascination, sideration, emotional numbness, inhibition of critical thinking
  • awakening of the feeling of sense of agency, reassumption of power
